How to create an Expert Advisor

The «Navigator» window allows to get quick access to different features of the program. The list of features is given in the form of a dendrogram and contains five groups:

• «Accounts» — the list of accounts.
• «Indicators» — the list of available technical analysis indicators.
• «Expert Advisors» — the list of available expert advisors.
• «Customer indicators» — the list of all available customer indicators, i.e. programs written in the MetaQuotes Language 4 and realizing the function of an indicator.
• «Scripts» — customer functions libraries, meant to store frequently used blocks of customer programs.

Click the right mouse button on any of the available Expert Advisors. The contextual menu will appear:

• Attach to a chart — «attach» the expert advisor the active chart. It means that tick by tick in the given currency pair the expert advisor will perform actions programmed by the trader.
• Modify — call MetaQuotes Language Editor and start editing the code of the Expert Advisor.
• Delete — delete the Expert Advisor.
• Create — create a new Expert Advisor.
• Add to favorites — to add the Expert Advisor to tabs (tab «Favorites» of «Navigator» window) for subsequent quick access to the Expert Advisor.
• Set hotkey — set «hot» key for the selected Expert Advisor.

As You for sure have already guessed You should choose the point «Create». As a result the MetaQuotes Language Editor window will open and You will be able to proceed to creating your first expert advisor.
